Coming early 2027

What Cinewright does

One workflow, script to screen. Here is the suite, app by app, grouped by the job it does. Everything works offline, with no account and no server, in 16 languages. VoiceOver support is in beta, being tested with VoiceOver users before launch.

How it works together

One production folder

Phones on set and computers in the office share one production folder on a cloud drive the production already uses. No server sits in the middle, and nobody needs an account.

On set

  • Cinewright for iPhone and iPad, with the Apple Watch slate remote, today
  • Cinewright for Android: in development

One production folder

  • Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive or a network drive; iCloud Drive for all-Apple teams
  • Teams mixing Apple with Windows or Android pick a drive every device can reach
  • An open JSON file format with SHA-256 fingerprints on every file
  • Standard encryption: Ed25519 signatures, X25519 key agreement, AES-GCM for a sealed folder

In the office

  • Budgeting and Scheduling for Mac, and CW Office on iPad, today
  • Budgeting and Scheduling for Windows: in development
  • Once those ship, a mixed Apple, Windows and Android crew works on one production

Cinewright Budgeting and Scheduling

Mac

The production office, from studio features and series to commercials, documentaries and shorts. A real desktop app: dense, fast and keyboard-first.

Breakdown and script

  • Scripts from Final Draft (with breakdown tags), Fountain, Fade In, Highland and PDF, scanned pages too, read on the Mac
  • Scene headings in any of the 16 languages; series with scripts per episode
  • New drafts compared scene by scene before anything changes, with revision colours
  • Element suggestions from Apple’s on-device model, off until you turn them on; nothing added until you tick it
  • Find and Replace across strips, breakdown and budget, every change previewed
  • Shot lists and storyboards per scene, typed like a spreadsheet, with shot lines on the script page
  • No script needed for commercials, documentaries, interviews, concerts and live events

Scheduling

  • Colour-coded stripboard: drag, keyboard or menu, with day breaks and banners
  • While you drag a strip, what dropping it there would do to the budget and the shoot days
  • Smart Schedule keeps cast days and locations together, with a preview first
  • Several boards per production, compared side by side; second units checked for clashes
  • Genre and pace profiles, setup times, and a realism check in plain words
  • Day Out of Days, calendar with public holidays, sunrise and sunset warnings
  • Labour rule packs for the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand, including minors’ hours, as warnings with sources
  • Daily element quantities: “50 background on day 3 only”

Budgeting

  • Templates for features, low budget, commercials, documentaries, shorts, TV episodes and music videos
  • Funder forms in each funder’s own numbers and layout, including Telefilm Canada, the Canada Media Fund, SODEC, CNC, FFA, Screen Australia, BFI NETWORK, NZFC, Screen Ireland and Eurimages
  • Formulas, globals and schedule-linked values, so the budget follows the board
  • Fringes with cutoffs and dated rate changes; built-in crew and cast rate packs
  • Every total checked a second, independent way on every save and export
  • Explain This Number and Why Did This Number Change?
  • First-Pass Budget from the breakdown, the board and the union rate packs, every figure with its source
  • Fill Down, several lines at once, and European top-sheet layouts

Money and financing

  • Financing plan with confirmed, applied-for and hoped-for sources, and the gap
  • 141 incentive programmes in 70 jurisdictions, each with its official source and the date checked (figures taken October 2026; check against current rates before relying on them)
  • Cost reports with estimate to complete, variance and reasons; a summary for investors and funders
  • Cash flow week by week; purchase orders and petty cash with receipts
  • 53 co-production treaties and conventions, partner budgets in their own currencies and the recoupment waterfall
  • Budget approval with signatures and the Producer’s Package as one PDF

The production office

  • Call sheets with revisions, crew and cast versions, the nearest hospital and safety notes
  • Call sheets in each person’s own language
  • Weather forecast for each shoot day’s locations, from Apple Weather, only when you ask
  • People, deal memos, timecards, performer time reports and department sign-off
  • Locations, permits, insurance certificates, releases and clearances
  • Health and safety, catering counts with dietary needs, background sign-in and run of show
  • Crew availability and holds across all your productions
  • A weapons register with firearm safety-meeting records (records only), and a digital replica consent register

Wrap, post and delivery

  • Wrap Book: the production’s closing record in tabs, as a bookmarked binder PDF
  • Deliverables checklist, chain of title and credits registers
  • Music cue sheets from the locked cut’s EDL or XML; archive licence log
  • VFX shot register, element strips and daily VFX shot sheets
  • Carbon inputs for albert and PEAR
  • Every report as PDF, Excel, CSV or a web page
  • Planned: carbon planning estimates and CNC and FFA carbon reporting layouts (see Coming before launch and after)

Keeping work safe

  • Hourly snapshots and a second copy on another drive, checked by fingerprint
  • Recently Deleted for 30 days
  • Every export read back and checked; every import previewed first
  • A published file format, and Export Everything, so your work is never locked in

Linked to the set

  • Send each shoot day to the phones and iPads: calls, scenes, shot list and places
  • Progress, actual times and takes come back, with the projected wrap date
  • A shared production folder on the cloud service you already use, or live on the set’s network
  • Scouts, floor plans and signed releases arrive in the office by themselves

Working together

  • Shared editing (beta): several people on one production at once through the production folder, no server, no accounts
  • A role per person and part; conflicts kept side by side to choose from
  • History of every shared edit, with Put Back
  • Department heads approve budgets, timecard hours and POs on their phones

  • When nothing matches, the app says so
  • On the Mac, in CW Office and in the Reader on iPhone and iPad

First-Pass Budget and more
